Day tour
Provided the lagoon's variable
weather, Kuyimá highly recommends planning for at
least 2 days at San Ignacio Lagoon. However, we
have available one-day tours from San Ignacio town. If you
have the time, we definitely suggest to spend at least one
night at Kuyimita Camping.
Our vans depart 8 am from Kuyimá's office in front of the San Ignacio Plaza (main
square). Cost of transportation is shared among the
passengers riding to the lagoon each day. If you are driving
a high-clearance car you can drive yourself all the way to
the lagoon.
For those visiting for the day, Kuyimita also offers
reasonably-priced
high-quality prepared food.
From Kuyimita, guided whale watching tours depart on
23–25-foot boats (pangas) for 4–10
passengers, sailing from 8 am to 3:30 pm. Tours are conducted by experienced drivers and knowledgeable
naturalists that will make your whalewatching experience
unforgettable.
Should I make reservations?
It is highly advisable in
order to organize boats to sail and spaces available in vans
going to the lagoon.
